Great machine

I purchased this machine for a food kitchen in Victoria, Tx. It has already received a punishing number of days. I personally have the 14 cup Cuisinart and have no problems bragging about it.
At the kitchen, six days a week, this machine is used by any number of persons on a daily basis, some not fully knowlegable of the commercial Cuisinart 20 cup. At this time there are no problems and I do not foresee any.
Thanks

The Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me

The title says it all. This thing is amazing. I love it. It was a gift and what a gift!!!
This thing gets near daily usage in my house. We use it to make bread dough and pizza dough. We make purees and sauces. We use this when we cook Indian food and when we want to make pastes.
The options of use are staggering. We love the discs and the bread blade. It makes difficult tasks into simple processes that take under a minute.
The unit itself is built with genius design so that there is no way anyone could ever injure themselves using it. Everything must be put together just right for it to work. I really love the detail. Also, some might think that having a lot of plastic parts is a bag thing, however, I view this as a good thing!! Nothing will rust!
This this is a true work horse! My previous food processor was a little Hamilton Beach $25 piece of trash. Using this is night and day to that! The blade on the Cuisinart is so sharp, it's like a freaking ninja samari sword.
Also, it's the little things... like the spatula that comes with it, slides perfectly across the inside of the container, scraping every last drop out of the bowl. It's just great!
Some people might not like that the settings are either... on or off, but I'd have it no other way! I get exactly what I want every time I use this food processor! |
Best investment ever

I bought this thing on a fluke in the mid 1980's. I walked into a Sams Club and saw a stack of these that said "one time buy". It was only $250! Now I wish I had bought them all. Needless to say this thing handles every thing you can throw at it without effort.
It's still running strong after 20 years without any trouble. The Lexan lid is beginning to spider crack but hasn't failed yet. I suspect I'll have to replace it eventually. This is the best made appliance I've ever owned. |

| I bought this model close to 20 years ago - if the motor is essentially the same, it is a very study addition to your kitchen. I use mine quite a bit. The lexan bowls have been replaced several times - they crack - and are almost as expensive as a cheaper, smaller Cuisinart. But if you want the best home model food processor, this is worth every penny. |
Excellent Machine

| I have owned this machine for 20 years and love it. 1 motor repair & 1 new bowl are all the additional $$ I've spent on the machine. I use it daily to process everything from cake batter to bread to grating cheese. It is an indispensable item in my kitchen. |

| I have owned and used this processor for over 12 years. What a great machine. I won't bore you with the details, but I would recommend this. |

| i've had this food processor since they came out about 15 years ago. i love it. i make large quantities of bread dough, quickly. it's a workhorse. i had to have it repaired once because i had left it plugged in during an electrical storm and there was a surge. cuisinart recommends that you don't leave it plugged in when not in use. i didn't have a problem with repair though. besides that, my fault, i've only purchased 1 bowl and one blade in 15 years. i'm tempted to buy this one but mine's working so well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this unit. if you want a large food processor which will last a very long time, this is it. |

| I've had my DLC-X for roughly ten years now. I bought the largest size specifically for doing bread. Even though it's a very large and impressive-looking unit, it takes up only a little more space than the smaller, more popular models. Also, at that time, the 'X' had a stronger shaft setup and a heavier-duty switching system than the smaller models. The ability of this machine to chop, shred, slice, etc., is amazing. One of the Cuisinart tricks I've used for years to save time is the practice of mixing up a salad dressing, then shred and slice the remainder of the salade, finally inverting the whole thing into a large bowl where the dressing drains over the salad. Being an appliance freak, I bought all the accessory disks, which on this machine are the size of 45-rpm records, and the whisk attachment. This attachment fit on the center shaft and rotated a small set of twin beaters around counter to the attachment rotation. It worked well for whipping cream, but I broke the gears in two of them doing mashed potatoes and a fairly sticky candy. As these were running about $75 each back then, I never replaced it. In my opinion, the greatest design weakness is the plastic lid with its engagement mechanism on the back side. I've been through three tops because the Lexan eventually cracks and breaks. No, I don't abuse the lids or use the mechanism as an on/off switch, it just seems to happen. Perhaps in the newer ones they've strengthened this area, hopefully so. The feed chute is a pain to clean but Cuisinart was trying for max flexibility. Nothing, certainly, that I can't live with. My other regret is that Cuisinart hasn't made the flat lid w/o tube available for this model. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. My cooking style has changed somewhat over the past ten years. I don't use my 'X' as much as I used to, but am glad to have it waiting for me when I need it! By the way, I discovered that a generic case made for a sewing serger accommodates my machine like it was made for it! This makes it very easy to transport the machine and not have to worry about breaking something off. |

| Mine arrived broken. After much aggravation with the customer service, which gave wrong info and wanted me to send it in at my own expense, Cuisinart finally told me Ca law made them pick it up for nothing. It took two months and lots of Cuisinart mistakes to get it back to me. And I was also billed for the repair and went through hell getting them to find that it was under warranty. Then, too, I received this repaired, top of the line product back with a broken plug. Then a really nasty cusomer service sup., without apologies and a truly hard-nosed ugly manner lays down the law...I have to send it in at my expense and they will take another 3 to 4 weeks to fix it and there is nothing I can do about it (she said that). Finally an upper level supervisor, whom I insisted on speaking with, realized none of this was my fault and, while still making me send it for yet another repair and refusing to exchange the twice wrecked unit, at least agreed to pay shipping, etc. I am sorry I ever did business with Cuisinart (Conair), and never will again, if I can help it. A life-time purchase

| I purchased this wonderful food processor about fifteen years ago and it continues to be by far my favorite kitchen appliance. I used it more often when my children were at home but even now use it almost every day and always for party preparations. It will quickly mix 5 pounds of bread or cookie dough. It's very sturdy and the only replacement needed was a new cutting blade after about 10 years of use - pretty good! I'm not a professional chef but using this wonderful machine makes me feel like one. Hooray! |

| I'll preface this by saying that I have cooked professionally for almost 15 years. Before ordering this massive processor, I checked out almost everything comparable. I am delighted with my selection. This processor is very powerful. If you have a large family or do a lot of entertaining, this one is for you. The work bowl is massive, and batters don't slop out. The motor can handle multiple batches of cookie dough. You can turn out cake batter in no time, and in big quantities. I went for a big processor as I have a large family. Several years ago I catered my daughter's wedding reception, and how I wish I had this processor at that time. Now it's easy to produce huge amounts of pesto, knead multiple recipes of bread dough, and slice tons of veggies. This product is a TOTAL WINNER! |
